SPOKANE, Wash. – October 5, 2026 – Gestalt today announced the availability of AI Studio, a cloud-based development environment designed to enable organizations to develop, train, and validate AI models for image analysis in digital pathology.
AI Studio provides researchers, pathologists, data scientists, AI developers, and industry partners with a collaborative workspace to transform ideas and data into purpose-built AI algorithms. Through its cloud-based environment, multiple users can work together in real time from anywhere in the world, bringing clinical, scientific, and technical expertise together without geographic limitations. As AI continues to reshape pathology, organizations increasingly need the ability not only to deploy existing algorithms, but also to develop solutions tailored to their own research, clinical, and commercial objectives.
Gestalt’s AI Studio provides the tools and environment to support that innovation.
“AI Studio represents an important next step in Gestalt’s vision for an open and collaborative digital pathology ecosystem,” said Lisa-Jean Clifford, President, Gestalt. “The future of AI in pathology will not be defined by a single algorithm or a single developer. It will be driven by experts who can bring together pathology, data science, research, and technology to solve meaningful problems. AI Studio gives those teams an environment where they can collaborate, innovate, and turn their ideas into AI solutions.”
From Concept to AI Model in One Collaborative Environment
AI Studio is designed to support the AI development lifecycle, providing organizations with an environment to:
- Start from Gestalt’s pre-trained pathology models and fine-tune them on your own slides
- Annotate together on the same slides, with every annotation traced to its author and session
- Train on cloud GPUs and validate on held-out slides against a defined quality gate
- Correct the model’s predictions and retrain: every accepted or rejected prediction becomes training data
- Keep full provenance of every model, down to the exact annotations it was trained on
- Work with standard formats and integrations: DICOM, GeoJSON and a REST API
- Develop AI for internal use or commercialization, supporting a variety of organizational and business objectives
For healthcare organizations and laboratories, this can mean exploring algorithms designed around specific workflows or research needs. For academic and research institutions, AI Studio provides an environment for investigating new applications of computational pathology.
Gestalt’s AI Studio is available now. Visit Gestalt in Booth #510 at Pathology Visions in San Diego to see it live.
