Dan Roark
Dan Roark is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur with a track record of building and scaling technology companies in life sciences and diagnostics. As Chief Executive Officer of Gestalt Diagnostics, he leads the company’s strategic direction and growth, advancing AI-driven digital pathology solutions that support enterprise adoption and improved diagnostic workflows.
Throughout his career, Dan has successfully founded and led multiple companies through acquisition. He was CEO of Matrical Bioscience, which was acquired by Brooks Automation, where he continued to lead strategic business and market development. Earlier, he founded CCS Instruments, later acquired by Packard Bioscience and integrated into PerkinElmer, where he served as Vice President and General Manager. He also held leadership roles at Tecan Group, focusing on product development, applications, and commercialization.
Dan’s experience spans the development and commercialization of technologies supporting high-throughput drug discovery, genomics, and diagnostic testing, including contributions to initiatives such as the Human Genome Project. His work has enabled global pharmaceutical, research, and healthcare organizations to scale complex scientific and clinical operations.
Known for his ability to translate innovation into scalable business outcomes, Dan brings leadership across engineering, operations, and global market development. He is also an active investor and mentor within the startup community.
Dan holds B.S. degrees in Biochemistry from Whitworth University and Chemical Engineering from Washington State University.
Outside of his professional work, he enjoys hiking, biking, and fly fishing, and values time spent with his family, including his three children and four grandchildren.
